T. Daniel's Encyclopedia of Mime is nearly ready!
We are so excited about this book that we cannot wait until it is finished!
There are just a few minor details and off it goes!
What is needed is a block of time to work only on the Book. We took a week this summer and made great progress, but it just was not enough time. And now we have "Mime ... Speaking Out", finishing writing two new productions, teaching, and finishing a book on T. Daniel Productions. Plus performances this fall.
So by the end of the year, which year?, the book can be sent to the publisher.
The first edition of the Encyclopedia was placed in the computer program on June 10, 1993! Although, Laurie and T. Daniel were gathering information on Mime for years before creating the book format. There will be more information on the book in the months to come. You will be the first to know when the book will be published!
If you would like to know about some of the information in the book, join the newsletter. Each month there is a special section on Did You Know That Mime...
In the past there were discussions about the patron saint of actors, who, it turns out was a mime! And about the Marx Brothers which may surprise you. It all has to do with Mime, the History of Mime and the joy of Mime. Find out more by requesting the Newsletter!

Megan Bearder
Megan continues to take photos for T. Daniel Productions!
Next month watch for her photos at the International House and the reception at Ravinia.

Creating images that expressively tell a story is Megan's main passion. Her photos of Le Boeuf sur le Toit certainly capture the story, the passion and the fun of the performance. Here are a few of her recent projects: documenting The People's Inaugural Project during the Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C., 10 years documenting the work of American non-profit Genesis at the Crossroads with its work in Chicago and around the world; the Casablanca Conservatory of Music, performances for the 60th Anniversary of the United Nations, the Genesis World Music Ensemble's performances at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., New York, Morocco, and upcoming performances in Egypt and Australia. Megan regularly contributes to The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Magazine and RedEye publications. Some of her clients include Johnson & Johnson, Glynn Devins advertising, Midwest Generation, Junior Achievement, and the Illinois Arts Alliance. If this is not enough, she has received awards for her photos, especially her wedding images. She was awarded again in 2009 for her wedding images, placing 2nd out of several hundred photographers from across the country.

Pierre Verry
(1913-2009)

We recently learned that Pierre, our dear friend, teacher and extraordinary mime, passed away on October 3, 2009. He had a great long life: 1913-2009. We wrote a special tribute to our dear friend.
Each year, on Pierre's birthday, T. Daniel and Laurie Willets would telephone him. This year this tradition was missed more than ever. They talked about Pierre, thouhgt about his importance to their life and career and offered a special toast to this very important person, who was a great Mime!

Marcel Marceau
(1923-2007)

It is so hard to believe that our very dear friend, teacher and mentor has not been with us now for two years. For Marceau passed away on September 22, Saturday, 2007. Our hearts will remain heavy...our tears still wet. He is still missed. T. Daniel and Laurie Willets are excited about bringing one of their productions to Paris, but sad that their friend and teacher will be there is spirit only. They recently visited his grave in Paris:
It is hard to believe that three years have passed since we lost this great Mime. Not a day goes by that he is not missed. The Art of Mime is not the same without him. While T. Daniel and Laurie Willets continue the tradition of Mime, his work was important to bring the Art to a wide public. How we miss him.
